uh..
Hard question..
It's a relatively unsafe way of obtaining large files because many, many people tend to use torrents to hide viruses..
But uh, free music is awesome.

Torrent isn't illegal. Certain Torrent files are.

Torrent files alone aren't illegal, but as Rq said, people tend to hide viruses such as keylogging virus, the most popular among Torrents, within the files of torrents you download.
